Refresher – Awareness of Child Abuse and Neglect (E-Learning)

This course cannot be used as initial safeguarding children training.

It is a statutory requirement for anyone who works with children to update their knowledge of legislation & guidance and maintain the ability to act on concerns about the welfare and safety of children and young people.

Government guidance suggests that refresher training should be undertaken every three years.

Course Aim

To update knowledge of safeguarding children legislation and guidance, and maintain the ability to act on, concerns about the safety and welfare of children and young people.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the session participants will:

  • identify the changes to practice over the past three years;
  • identify different levels of harm and the appropriate safeguarding processes to be followed;
  • receive safeguarding children information from both a local and national context.

Additional Information

The learning package has interactive learning screens, learner challenges, tracking and online assessment. There is a certificate for successful applicants to download.
